Champlain Ranked in the Top 50 World Class eSports Programs in the Country

According to CNN, eSports is a “billion-dollar industry,” consisting of multiplayer video-gaming competitions that draw millions of spectators. College-level eSports programs are seeing explosive growth as well, including right here at Champlain. Champlain College’s Esports team (CCE) was one of the first clubs of its kind. It even caught the attention of The New York Times: “An N.C.A.A. for Esports?”

So if you’re looking for colleges to attend that have killer eSports programs, you’ve come to the right place. Champlain is one of the 50 best college eSports programs in existence.

Whether you’re a serious competitor, a content creator looking to launch a career in eSports, or just play games as a hobby, Champlain has what you need to take your game to the next level.

What’s truly unique about Champlain eSports is the community.  As was noted in the Top 50 eSports Program ranking, “Champlain knows how to celebrate the good that gaming can do for its members and those around them. They take part in Extra Life (an event organized to host 24-hour Twitch streams for charity) every year and host bi-weekly LAN events on their campus.”

In addition to all that, Champlain College also supports official varsity eSports teams in League of Legends, CS: GO, Overwatch, and Hearthstone.

“This looks like one of the most fun college eSports groups you could join,” says Liquid Luck. We couldn’t agree more!
