The Game Studio is first and foremost a community of learners. Together, we explore the meaning of what we are doing and why, we explore our entrepreneurial and creative dreams, we learn the ever-evolving game industry together, and we roll up our sleeves and get to work. In this collaborative learning environment that mirrors the way game industry professionals work, we focus on interdisciplinary experiential learning. Through this work, we answer the question, “What can we make together?” We take the skills learned in individual majors bring new concepts to life, creating fully functional games as a team. Over the four years working with your colleagues and faculty members in the Game Studio, you’ll develop imperative interpersonal and process skills and gain teamwork expertise people don’t usually cultivate until they have been working in the industry for years.
Follow your passions by choosing one of six available Game Studio majors offered at Champlain: Game Art, Game Business and Publishing, Game Design, Game Production Management, Game Programming, or Game Sound Design. Each major will immerse you in different aspects of video game development as you hone your craft and specialize your skills.
Apply what you’ve learned and work with your peers to develop captivating, interactive game experiences. Follow the real step-by-step process that professional game studios use to create their games. Collaborate and contribute as you see your games grow from concept to finished product.
